Roke walk 23/08/19

Final route (black line)

Lynn and I recently led 18 people on a 5 mile late afternoon/early evening circular walk (attached – black dotted line, starting and ending at The Horse and Groom) which we created by combining walks from the splendid Woodgreen calendar. The document also contains a group photo taken at the top of the climb from Millersford Bottom. The walk was followed by good meals in the pub and beer from an excellent range, being the first day of the beer festival.

P.S. In case you’re wondering, Roke refers to Roke Manor Research near Romsey where most of us work or used to work.

Feb Calendar Walk 17/2/19

On Sunday, an intrepid band completed the Shop calendar’s February walk, which includes the notorious footpath: 261/773/1. Roped together for safety, we overcame its decrepit stiles and vertiginous slopes, electrified fence and bramble. Spirits were kept high throughout the ordeal with a heady cocktail of Mint Imperials, Aniseed Balls and Everton Mints.
